Admission Policy
Student Handbook
It is the policy of CCD that all potential students must fill out and submit an application form and relevant documentation required. An incomplete application form could delay the admission process. Please take time and care when filling out the application form. Application forms can be found on CCD’s website, CCD’s reception and can also be emailed to you.

Students will not be allowed to attend any classes until all of the enrollment procedures and policies have been fully completed and adhered to.

Fee payment :
CCD requires that all course fees are paid in advance of enrollment to the college. Students will not be permitted to attend any classes until full fees have been paid. In some circumstances payments can be made in installments, for more information on eligibility for payment installment plans contact the admission office.

Entry/Course Requirements :
Entry requirements for each course must be adhered to fully. Full details of entry requirements can be found on our website www.centralcollege.ie.

Documentation Requirements :
The following documentation must be provided for all applicants prior to admission:
Proof of identification such as a birth certificate or a passport must be provided for all applicants
Applicants transferring from another college must provide a letter of attendance, a reference may also be required from your previous college
Previous course results if applicable
English language qualification certificates such as TOEFL, iELTS or Cambridge for students whose first language is not English.

Declaration of Prior Convictions :
CCD take careful consideration in the application of students. All applicants will be required to declare any previous convictions/criminal offences. In cases where a student has a criminal record CCD will carry out an assessment of the implications and risk in relation to other students and the college prior to admission being granted.

Admission Assessment Policy :
All applicants who apply for admission to CCD will be assessed fairly and consistently in line with our equal opportunities policy based on the information provided.

College Admission Rights :
CCD reserves the right to refuse admission without having to give reason. If a student is unsuccessful in their application they may reapply for admission in the following semester.
Payment Method : Bank Transfer
Student shall deposit a full payment directly to the school’s bank account within 7 days of receiving booking approval from the school.
Refund Policy, cancellation and termination Policy

It is the policy of Central College Dublin to give refunds to students where it is found that the student has a valid proven reason for the refund. Cancellation refers to the period up to the start date of the first course you are due to attend.

Visa Related Cancellations:

For cancellations due to visa rejections, a written notification and receipt of the relevant supporting documentation must be presented to central College Dublin at least 14 days prior to your listed arrival date. On receipt of the supporting documentation, 100% of the tuition, accommodation and health insurance fees will be refunded. If visa rejection evidence is not supplied within the given timeframe (at least 14 days prior to arrival date) then a cancellation fee equivalent to 1 week’s full accommodation and tuition fees will apply

Non-Visa Related Cancellations:

Cancellations made at least 14 days prior to your listed arrival date will receive a full refund on accommodation and tuition fees paid, an administration and service charge of €100 will be deducted from the tuition fee. For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to your listed arrival date you will be refunded 50% of your accommodation and tuition fee.

Non Refundable Fees:

The following cases are all non-refundable, this list is extensive but not exhaustive.

Express mail fee
Accommodation placement fee
Registration fee
Bank transfer or Credit card fee
Monetary value differences due to currency exchange rate changes
Any other service charges
Terminations :

'Termination' means stopping or leaving all or part of the course or courses booked, including extensions, once the first class has started. In all cases, no refunds will be made after the arrival date listed on the booking confirmation form. Students who terminate their program may not be eligible to receive a certificate of completion.

Refund Guidelines :

All refund requests must be made within 24 hours of your arrival to your accommodation, where you arrive on weekends refund requests can be made on the Monday following your arrival.
All refund requests must be made by filling out CCD’s refund request form which can be obtained from reception.
Refund requests will be dealt with as quickly as possible although it can take up to two weeks for a decision to be made.
Refunds will only be considered if there is a genuine reason for the refund.
A change of mind once you have stayed at your accommodation or started your course is not considered as a reason to receive a refund of your course fees or accommodation fees.
Class times that do not suit the student are not considered for a refund unless class times have been confirmed in writing and they are not available.
Refund Stages :

Refund request form will be given to the board of management
Board of management will meet and discuss refund application.
A decision will be usually be made with 5 working days although it can take up to two weeks to reach a decision.
If the student does not agree with the decision an appointment can be made for the student to meet with the board of management.
Appointments will be on a one to one basis – NO GROUPS
The first available appointment will be given although this can take up to 48 hours
Once a decision has been made the decision is final.
