TOEFL stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language. If you haven’t completed your secondary or university studies in an English-speaking institution, you will probably have to take an English exam of some kind depending on the university you want to attend.
TOEFL IBT stands for Internet-based Test. The IBT is the standard test used around the world now.
The most important information needed when considering taking the TOEFL IBT test is:
Does the Western university you want to attend require a TOEFL score? And if so, How high?
Not all Western universities require TOEFL, some accept IELTS, nor do all have the same score requirements, each sets its own standards.

Students must raise their English level and develop Western test-taking skills if they want to achieve their highest potential score. Our TOEFL IBT preparation course is specifically designed to ensure that students improve their English and develop their TOEFL test-taking skills. The course focuses on developing the strategies needed to confidently sit the test in all four language skill areas: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Test practice is scheduled weekly throughout the course.
Enrolment for TOEFL Preparation classes at Global English Centre is limited because only 1 class runs per term, with a maximum of 10 students. {starts every Monday and} students may study for as many weeks as they like, however, please remember to allow a number of weeks if you need to complete the entire course. During the course students will improve the skills necessary for to excel at the TOEFL IBT examination and will become familiar with the exam format and will have the opportunity to do several practice tests.

Program Description
International English Programs commence every Monday and students may study for as many weeks as they like. These intensive courses are offered in Beginner to Advanced levels with a focus on: speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills as well as vocabulary, pronunciation and grammar.
Program Aims
- Develop students’ confidence in using English for general purposes
- Improve students’ skills in the areas of speaking, listening, reading and writing in order to communicate more effectively in English in both formal and informal settings
- IEP will help students develop communication skills in normal daily situations by being involved in activities with other students from a variety of different countries, both inside and outside the classroom
- Develop students’ English proficiency so they can focus on English for Academic Purposes once they have attained the appropriate level of English
Who is this Program for?
International English Programs are the best choice if you want to be able to use English better in a variety of situations. While all skills are taught, IEP emphasis is on speaking and listening, and includes a wide range of functional English to help you feel at ease in any situation. At all levels, International English is fun as well as instructive. You will start to feel more at home in the English-speaking world right from the beginning.

IELTS Preparation

During the course students will improve the skills necessary for an IELTS examination and will become familiar with the exam format and will have the opportunity to do several practice tests.
The IELTS Preparation course is for anyone planning to attend a Western University or planning to work in or immigrate to a western country.
IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, administered by the British Council. It measures your ability to communicate in English across all four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking – and opens doors for people who wish to study or work where English is the language of communication. Candidates must decide to take the General IELTS for work or the Academic IELTS for further studies at university level. Those interested in Academic IELTS Preparation usually plan to undertake studies at higher institutions of learnng, academic training, gain work experience, or take General IELTS Preparation for immigration or work purposes.
Pre-requisite for IELTS preparation course is English level 5.

Student progress is assessed through weekly in-class tests in the core areas of listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary, as well as meta-skills such as presentation delivery and structured discussions.
The final assessment for the IELTS Preparation Course is the IELTS Examination that will take place at the British Council Testing Centre in Kota Kinabalu.
Exams are held twice per month.

English for Children engages young students in fun interactive classes that encourage the use of English skills such as simple grammar, reading, listening, writing, and vocabulary.

Who is this Program for?
This course is all about developing the ability to communicate more effectively in English. English For Children Programs are the best choice for students age 3 to 12 years of age as it provides an exciting and memorable educational learning experience in Malaysia. The didactic approach is a communicative one at all times. Particular emphasis is placed on encouraging students to speak in English and activate their passive knowledge of the language. We use a wide variety of English language teaching materials which are specifically designed for young English students.
